Obscurus- Fallen
Handcrafted Ziatype prints on cotton berger, hand finished with beeswax & lavender
Observing the banal during periods of introspective reflection reveals the hidden shadow sides of commonly overlooked objects (in this instance fallen tree branches and logs). These objects transform out of the imagination into the queer, creating a conscious dreamscape. They propose that the observer changes reality by the very act of observation. Are the Fallen, queer creatures that emerge from the mundane into reality brought into existence through an act of recognition and perception of the observer?
The ziatype is a print out process that uses lithium palladium chloride and ammonium ferric oxalate applied to paper by hand to produce a continuous tone print. The Ziatype Process yields a print that is remarkably similar to the platinum / palladium print.
